Custom-made 4-day itinerary to Barcelona

Day 1 - Arrive in Barcelona

The group will make their own way to the airport where they will board a morning flight to Barcelona. Alternatively, StudyLink can arrange for UK airport transfers from the university campus.

After arriving at the airport, the group will met by our coach provider for transport to their centrally-located accommodation, where they will stay for 3 nights on a B&B basis.

In the evening, the group can have free time to familiarise themselves with the local area.

Day 2 - Hidden City Classic Walking Tour & Company Presentation

Continental breakfast served at the hotel.

After breakfast, the group will make their way to a StudyLink arranged Hidden City Tour of Barcelona.

Hidden City Tours is an award-winning Barcelona based social enterprise that has set about putting one of the city´s strengths - tourism - to work to solve one of the city´s social problems - homelessness.

This innovative project offers walking tours of the Gothic and Raval quarters of the old town .... with a difference: the guides who are employed are or have experienced homelessness.

After their tour, the group will get to hear from Hidden City Tours Founder. During the presentation, students will discover the journey of the business from its inception in 2013 to the present day. Ideal for those who wish to learn more about the running of a successful social enterprise employing the most marginalised sector of our society, the homeless. Also includes an open debate on homelessness, poverty, social innovation and entrepreneurship.

In the evening, the group will have free time to enjoy dinner in one of the city's local restaurants.

Day 3 - Bodegas Torres Wine Caves and Torres & Earth Sustainability Presentation

Continental breakfast served at the hotel.

After breakfast, the group will be met by our coach provider for transport to Bodegas Torres Wine Caves.

The winery tour starts with a film presentation about the company and its products, followed by a tour of the vineyard by coach to see the fermentation vats, cellars and bottling plant.

The group will also benefit from a presentation on the Torres & Earth program. The goal of this environmental action program is twofold: adapting activity to climate change and reducing their carbon footprint to help mitigate the effects of global warming. Familia Torres set the ambitious goal of reducing the CO2 emissions per bottle by 30% from 2008 to 2020 in carbon footprint scopes 1, 2 and 3, from the vineyard to the consumer. To achieve this, they allocate 11% of profits every year to investments related to the environment and the fight against climate change. The winery tour starts with a film presentation about the company and its products, followed by a tour of the vineyard by coach to see the fermentation vats, cellars and bottling plant.

In the evening, the group have free time to enjoy the local area.

Day 4 - La Sagrada Familia & Return to the UK

Continental breakfast served at the hotel.
