Fashion Management with Marketing University Tour to New York & Washington DC

Solent University required a group travel package to a vibrant city that could offer enviable experiences and deep insight into the fashion industry.

StudyLink created a 10-day study tour package to New York and Washington, enabling students to liaise with leading members of the fashion community and see behind the ‘seams’ as to what goes on in the cutting room. The students were exposed to international fashion business, learning how businesses in the USA operate in comparison to the UK.

Custom-made 10-day itinerary to New York & Washington

Day 1 - Arrive in New York

The group was met by our coach provider at the university campus and transferred to Heathrow International airport.

After boarding a morning flight to New York, the group was met by our representative and coach for transfer to their accommodation

Staying at a centrally located hotel for the next 6 nights, the group was based in the depth of New York’s vibrant city and within walking distance of Time Square, Fifth Avenue and Macy’s.

Free time was scheduled in the evening for students to explore the nearby area and taste the local cuisine.

 

Day 2 - Group-planned Activity

The group chose to arrange their own activities including meals and transport however, StudyLink can pre-book visits, dinner reservations and MTA tickets.

 

Day 3 - Museum of Modern Art (MoMA)

The group chose to make their own breakfast arrangements before arriving at the Museum of Modern Art by foot for a self-guided tour arranged by StudyLink. 

The Museum of Modern Art celebrate creativity, openness, tolerance, and generosity. Their thought-provoking modern and contemporary art welcomes students to discuss diverse cultural, artistic, social, and political positions to develop an open approach to business.

Time was scheduled for in the afternoon for the group to make their own arrangements before arriving at Hard Rock Café in the evening for a confirmed dinner reservation.

 

Day 4 - Group-planned Activity

Day 5 - Downtown Manhattan Walking Tour

The group chose to make their own breakfast arrangements before meeting Lin Rolf and Ted Kemm at Hotel Pennsylvania for a Downtown Manhattan Walking Tour pre-arranged by StudyLink. 

Downtown Manhattan Walking Tours offer students the opportunity to see New York’s history and culture come to life through the teachings of our local guides. Walking round the streets of Manhattan, students visit world-famous landmarks and have the opportunity to quiz a real New Yorker.

Day 6 - Group-planned Activity

The group chose to arrange their own activities including meals and transport however, StudyLink can pre-book visits, dinner reservations and MTA tickets.

Day 7 - Depart from New York & arrive in Washington

The group chose to make their own breakfast arrangements before checking-out of the hotel and being met by our representative and coach for transfer the group to Washington.

Arriving in Washington late afternoon, the group checked-in to the Harrington Hotel for the remaining 2 nights of their tour.

Located in the centre of Washington, the Harrington Hotel is a moments’ walk from museums, restaurants and shops and is perfectly situated for public transport. Time was scheduled in the evening for the group to explore the surrounding area and taste the local cuisine.

 

Day 8 - Smithsonian Museums

The group chose to make their own breakfast arrangements before arriving at the Smithsonian Museums where StudyLink had arranged a self-guided tour,

The Smithsonian Institution is an educational and research institute and associated museum complex. Groups’ favourites are the Air & Space Museum, Museum of American History and Museum of Natural History.

Students can roam the vast corridors leading to curriculum based exhibitions, laboratories for learning and innovation, and educational research centres all covering a variety of subjects. 

The group chose to make their own arrangements for the rest of the day.

Day 9 - Check-out Harrington

The group chose to make their own breakfast arrangements before checking-out of the hotel and being met by our representative and coach to transfer the group to Dulles International Airport for an evening flight to Heathrow International Airport.

 

 

Day 10 - Return to Heathrow International Airport & Solent University Campus

The group arrived at Heathrow International Airport and were met at the aircraft door by an airport representative who guided them through customs to the baggage claim area. Once escorted to the coach, the group were transferred back to the university.
