Engineering University Tour to Valencia

Second and third year construction courses at Coventry University attended the first large scale international field trip after COVID restrictions were eased in February 2022 to Valencia, Spain.

They undertook group projects studying the numerous bridges of the dried and landscaped Turin river bed, and around the reuse and redesign of the historical Mestalla stadium which is currently proposed to be demolished.

StudyLink created a 5-day study tour package for nearly 300 students to Valencia, which included co-ordinating multiple flight bookings and itineraries for the group, UK and Valencia airport transfers, and comprehensive group travel insurance.

The group were supported in-destination by members of the StudyLink Account Executive and Contracting team.

Custom-made 5-day itinerary to Valencia

Day 1 (Group A) - Arrive in Valencia

The group were met early by their coach at Coventry University and departed to Birmingham International Airport, for their early morning flight.

The group arrived at Alicante International Airport early in the afternoon. The group were met by a member of the StudyLink Account Executive team at the arrivals hall who guided them to their coach for transfer to their accommodation.

The group checked in at the Hotel Olympia Events and Spa hotel where they spent the next 4 nights on a B&B basis.

Free time was scheduled in the evening for students to explore the nearby area. 

Day 2 (Group A) - Science Museum & Hemispheric

Continental breakfast served at the hotel.

The group made their own way to their pre-booked morning visit to the Science Museum. Late afternoon, StudyLink had pre-arranged a visit to Hemispheric for a viewing of Amazon Adventure. 

After their visits, the group had free time to make their own arrangements.

Day 3 (Group A) - Group-planned Activity

Continental breakfast served at the hotel, group then chose to arrange their own activities including meals and transport, however StudyLink can pre-book visits, dinner reservations and transport tickets.

Day 4 (Group A) - Mestalla Stadium Tour

Continental breakfast served at the hotel. 

The group made their own way to the home of Valencia Club de Fútbol, the Mestalla Stadium. StudyLink had pre-booked a Mestalla Forever Tour of the stadium for the group.

In the afternoon and evening, the group had time free to enjoy their last evening in Valencia.

Day 5 (Group A) - Return to Birmingham International Airport

The group checked out of the hotel early in the morning and collected a pre-arranged, packed breakfast from reception.

The group were met by their coach, for transfer to Alicante International Airport for their morning flight. 

Arriving at Birmingham International Airport in the afternoon, the group were met at the aircraft door by a representative, who guided them through customs and to their waiting coach. 

The coach transferred them back to the Coventry University campus.
