Nottingham Trent University required a group travel package to Italy’s capital where students could gain inspiration and primary research for their design projects and modules.

Custom-made 5-day itinerary to Rome

Day 1 - Arrive in Rome

After boarding a daytime flight to Rome, the group was met by our coach provider for transportation for to their accommodation.

Staying at student-friendly accommodation, the group was based in the heart of Rome and within walking distance of the Termini Central Station and the Vittorio Emanuele Metro stop.

Free time was scheduled in the evening for students to explore the nearby area and taste the local cuisine. 

Day 2 - Cinecittà Studios & Experimental Centre for Cinematography

Continental breakfast served at the hotel, group then travelled by coach to Cinecittà Studios for a confirmed booking pre-arranged by StudyLink. Coach on-hand all day for the group to use at their discretion. 

Cinecittà Studios is Europe’s largest film studio and hosts an astonishing back catalogue of achievements including Academy Awarding winning productions and direction from world-renowned filmmakers, such as Federico Fellini, Roberto Rossellini, Luchino Visconti, Sergio Leone, Bernardo Bertolucci, Francis Ford Coppola, and Martin Scorsese. Students can explore studio backlots, a museum and gallery all set within 99 acres of movie history.

Experimental Centre for Cinematography was established in 1935 in Italy and aims to promote the art and technique of cinematography and film. This cinematic hub defies convention and encourages students to expand their creativity outside the usual train of thought. 

 

Day 3 - Group-planned activity

Continental breakfast served at the hotel, group then decided to make their own arrangements for the day, however StudyLink can pre-book dinner reservations, visits and public transport if required.

Day 4 - Guided Walking Tour

Continental breakfast served at the hotel, group then met StudyLink's Rome representative, Richard Bowen for a 3-hour guided walking tour of the city.

Rome’s guided walking tours allow students to fully immerse themselves in the city’s breathtaking history and culture. Sauntering through quaint alleyways opening to magnificent landmarks, such as the Trevi Fountain, students are exposed to an array of art, architecture and design that sparks a flurry of cinematic inspiration.

Day 5 - Return to East Midlands Airport

Continental breakfast served at the hotel, the group were met by our coach provider at their accommodation and travelled to Luqa Airport, arriving at East Midlands Airport mid-afternoon.
