International Business University Tour to Barcelona

Example study tour 

A university required a group travel package for their MSC International Business and MSC International Business and Law students, to  facilitate a visit to Barcelona where they could visit a variety of businesses in different industries.

StudyLink created a 8-day study tour package to Barcelona, enabling students to apply their course learning to real-life business practices, whilst focussing on the module International Business in Practice.

Custom-made 8-day itinerary to Barcelona

Day 1 - Flight to Barcelona

The group make their own way to Manchester International Airport, where they boarded their afternoon flight to Barcelona. After arriving at the airport, the group were met by a StudyLink representative who assists them for the duration of the tour.

The group were collected from the airport by coach for transportation to their accommodation.

Staying at a 4-star hotel, the group were centrally located to explore the city.

Day 2 – Museu Picasso & Gaudi Park Güell

Continental breakfast served at the hotel.

After breakfast, the group benefits from a guided tour of the historic hotel and gets the opportunity to take part in a Q & A session with the general manager.

The group then took advantage of their hop-on hop-off bus tickets to explore the sights of Barcelona; including pre-booked visits to the Museu Picasso and Gaudi Park Güell.

The group were free to make their own arrangements for the evening.

Day 3 – Cava Cordoniu & Danone Factory

Continental breakfast served at the hotel.

The group were collected by coach for transfer to their first business visit of the day, Cava Cordoniu.  This business is the oldest family-run business in Spain, dating back to 1515, and exports its 15 renowned brands worldwide. The students get a tour of the vineyards, followed by a talk from the marketing team, responsible for developing one of the world’s leading wine brands.

The group were then transferred by coach to the Danone Barcelona dairy factory. On their visit to one of the world’s leading dairy businesses, they would discover how their products are prepared and packaged before being exported across Europe.

In the evening the group were free to make their own arrangements.

Day 4 – Car factory tour & Montserrat visit

The group were collected from the hotel by coach and are transferred to the car factory. During a 30-minute presentation from the talent acquisition team, the students learned more about the team that produce 21,000 unit per day, for exporting to 75 countries worldwide. 

In the afternoon, they were collected by coach for a cultural visit to Montserrat, where they could visit the museum. 

After coach transfer back to the hotel, the group were free to make their own arrangements for the evening.

Day 5 – La Sagrada Familia & Maritime Museum

The group were able to make their own transport arrangements for their pre-arranged cultural visits to La Sagrada Familia and the Maritime Museum.

In the evening, the group were free to make their own arrangements.

Day 6 – Estrella Damm Brewery & TV3 Television

Continental breakfast served at the hotel.

The coach collected them from the hotel for their morning visit to Estrella Damm Brewery. During their visit to the brewery, the students were given a tour and presentation by the imports and exports department, on the export of their 20 brands to 85 countries worldwide.

The group were then picked up by coach for transfer to TV3 Television, via Las Ramblas for lunch.

At TV3 Television, they were able to get an insight into the primary television channel for the Catalan region.

Once transferred back to the hotel, the group were free to make their own arrangements.

Day 7 – Natural Machines & Port of Barcelona

Continental breakfast served at the hotel.

The group were able to walk to their morning business visit to Natural Machines, a food technology company who develop and manufacture 3D food printing machines. During this visit they were met by the CEO for a demonstration of the technology and a talk on the start of the company and on entrepreneurship, followed by a Q & A session.

After visiting Tech City Pier and having lunch, the students are transferred by coach to the Port of Barcelona, where they have a presentation and Q & A session about Europe’s fastest growing port.

The group are free to make their own arrangements for their final evening in Barcelona.

Day 8 – Return to Manchester

Continental breakfast served at the hotel.

Check out of the hotel and the group then had free time for last minute shopping and sightseeing.

Coach transfer early afternoon to the airport for their evening flight back to Manchester Airport.
