Custom-made 8-day itinerary to San José & Limón City

Day 1 - Flight to Juan Santamaria International Airport

Flight from nearest international airport to Juan Santamaria International Airport.

The group will be welcomed to Costa Rica and receive airport assistance from a StudyLink representative inside the arrivals hall, where they will be guided to their waiting coach.. The group will be transferred from the airport and will be taken to their accommodation, where they will stay for the next three nights. 

A pre-arranged welcome dinner will be hosted on the first evening, along with a short presentation on the upcoming activities for the week.

Day 2 - San Jose City Tour & Visit to Chocolatier

Breakfast will be served at the hotel.

The group will be collected from the hotel by coach for the group's morning activity; a private city tour of San José.

The group will then be taken to their next company visit, to a Chocolatier, where they will first have lunch, followed by a chocolate tasting. After lunch, the group will receive a talk about the Chocolatier's origins, the challenges they faced in becoming a market-leading business, and the potential future challenges as an exporter of Costa Rica's chocolate.

In the evening, the group will have a pre-booked dinner at the hotel or nearby restaurant.

Day 3 - San José - CINDE & PROCOMER

Breakfast will be served at the hotel.

The group will be picked up at the hotel by coach, and they will be transferred to their company visits, where they will get business presentations from the Costa Rican Investment Promotion Agency (CINDE) and PROCOMER (the Agency in charge of promoting Costa Rican exports).

The group will then be transferred to a local restaurant for a pre-booked lunch.

In the afternoon the group will return to the hotel, for a presentation by the Business Development Association. This non-profit organisation promotes corporate responsibility and ensures the strategic social investment of Costa Rica’s corporate sector.  The day will end with a round-table discussion led by a local investment banker on the topic of 'Investing outside of the developed world'.

In the evening the group will enjoy a pre-booked dinner.

Day 4 - San José/Limón

Breakfast served at the hotel and the group will check out of their first hotel.

The group will be picked up at the hotel by coach for their second stop in Limón.  During their journey they will stop en route at Rainforest Adventure Park, where they can visit the Aerial Tram and hiking trails. After this activity, StudyLink have arranged for a talk about Rainforest Adventure Park, where they will explain in details about their different parks and their efforts to protect the rainforest and the continuous process ensure the business operates sustainably and competitively.

The group will also get to learn about their tremendous expansion within Costa Rica, where they have 3 venues, along with their other sites in Panama and the Caribbean (Jamaica, St Lucia and St Marteen). 

The group can enjoy a pre-booked lunch at the park. In the afternoon, the coach will take them to their next stop in Limón for check-in at their new accommodation, where they will stay for two nights.

In the evening, the group will enjoy a pre-booked dinner at the hotel.

Day 5 - Limón City Tour & APM Terminals

Breakfast served at the hotel.

The group will be picked up after breakfast, ready for a city tour of Limón with an expert local guide.

The group will then visit APM Terminals, a local logistics business with a new fleet of environmentally friendly electric cranes for the new Moín Container Terminals.

The port is one of most important areas for the country's economic development. During their visit, your students will get to see how this new infrastructure investment will change the dynamics of international commerce for Costa Rica and parts of Central America. 

Your group will enjoy a pre-booked lunch at a local restaurant. 

After lunch, your group can then take part in an open discussion at the hotel about each of the different visits or take the opportunity to visit the beach.

In the evening, your group will have a pre-booked dinner at the hotel.

Day 6 - Limón/EARTH University/San José

Breakfast served at the hotel, after which your group will check out their accommodation ready for return to their hotel in San José.

En route to San José the group will have a pre-arranged visit at the EARTH University to learn about the Community Development Program (PDC). This learning platform promotes the exchange of knowledge between students and communities.

Your group will have a pre-booked lunch at EARTH University, before they board the coach for their journey back to San José. 

In the evening the group willl have a pre-booked meal at the hotel.

Day 7 - San José - Free Zone & Florida Ice & Farm

Breakfast served at the hotel.

After breakfast, the group will be picked up by coach and transferred to a Free Zone, where companies are incentivised by the Costa Rican government to make new investments and future developments.  Your students will receive a business presentation by one of the companies currently operating in the Free Zone. 

After this visit, your group will enjoy a pre-boooked lunch at a local restaurant. In the afternoon, your students will visit Florida Ice & Farm, the largest listed company of Costa Rica.

The coach will then return the group to the hotel, ready for a farewell dinner on their last night in Costa Rica.

Day 8 - Flight back to the UK

Breakfast will be served at the hotel, after which the group will check out of the hotel.

The group will be picked up at the hotel by coach, for transfer to the airport, ready for their departure flight back to the UK.
