Trips to Dubai for Travel & Tourism Students

Over the past twenty years, Dubai has transformed itself from a nearly-barren desert, to a global powerhouse for business and tourism.

The country’s incredible development and booming tourism sector makes it a fascinating destination for students of travel and tourism; allowing them to understand the main reasons why people travel (business and leisure) and the changes in consumer tastes. Thanks to the country’s wealth, your students will also get an insight into how economic factors have an instrumental effect on the development of tourism destinations.

One of the key reasons for Dubai’s transformation as a leading tourism destination, is their amazing feats of engineering and their unrivalled infrastructure.  Pride of place on the Dubai skyline is the Burj Khalifa, the world’s tallest building. Equally impressive are other skyscrapers such as the Burj Al Arab and the Al Fattan Tower. The Dubai Marina is the world’s largest man-made marina and features a further six towers.

Dubai is also home to one of the most ambitious developments ever attempted, the Palm Jumeirah. A man made archipelago that is large enough to be seen from space and is being heralded as the 8th wonder of the world.

With an increasing population, Dubai has a diverse culture and thanks to its old town of Deira, your travel and tourism students can explore the history of the area and the natural attraction of the surrounding desert.

Al Fattan Tower

Situated in the heart of the Dubai Marina, this is one of Dubai’s most desired residential towers and a landmark for Dubai. Just 50 meters from the beach, this property stands out amongst others.

Burj Al Arab

This is the world’s tallest hotel and is also popularly described as the world’s only 7-star hotel. The hotel is located in the Jumeirah Beach area of Dubai. It is built on its own artificial island and the hotel can be reached by causeway or by helicopter. There are great views of the building from the shoreline.

Burj Khalifa

The Burj Khalifa is the world’s tallest tower and the centrepiece of the Gulf regions most prestigious urban development to date. Every hour of the day has its own special charm and light… but the sunset over Dubai and the lights of the city are simply breath-taking.

Dubai Marina

This is a district in the heart of what has recently become known as ‘new Dubai’, in Dubai. The first phase of Dubai Marina covers 25 acres, which includes six freehold waterfront apartment towers and 64 luxury villas connected by a network of roof top gardens that are divided around each tower.

Oasis Beach Tower

The tower offers a central position in new Dubai, on the beach end of Dubai Marina. The building comprises 180 luxurious apartments with stunning views over the Arabian Gulf.

Palm Islands and Palm Jumeirah

It is one of the most ambitious real-estate developments on earth, heralded as the 8th wonder of the world as it can be seen from space along with another major landmark, The Great Wall of China.
